SNMPv3 Encryption

When using Device Manager NX or another application that communicates via SNMPv3, you can encrypt the data transmitted.

By making this setting, you can protect data from being tampered with.

1Log in as the network administrator from the control panel.

2Display the “Permit SSL/TLS Communication” screen.

[System Settings] [Interface Settings] [Network] [Permit SNMPv3 Communication]

3Specify SNMPv3 encryption.

[Encryption Only] [OK]

4Log out.

Note

  • To use Device Manager NX for encrypting the data for specifying settings, you need to specify the network administrator's Encryption Password setting and Encryption Password in SNMP Authentication Information in Device Manager NX, in addition to specifying Permit SNMPv3 Communication on the printer. For details about specifying Encryption Password in Device Manager NX, see Device Manager NX Help.

  • If network administrator's [Encryption Password] setting is not specified, the data for transmission may not be encrypted or sent. For details about specifying the network administrator's [Encryption Password] setting, see Registering and Changing Administrators.

  • This can also be specified via Web Image Monitor. For details, see Web Image Monitor Help.
