User Code Authentication

This is an authentication method for limiting access to functions according to a user code. The same user code can be used by more than one user. For details about specifying user codes, see Web Image Monitor Help.

For details about specifying the user code for the printer driver, see the printer driver Help.

1Log in as the machine administrator from the control panel.

2Display the screen for configuring User Code authentication.

[System Settings] [Administrator Tools] [User Authentication Management] [User Code Authentication] [OK]

3Display the screen for configuring Authentication Information.

[User Authentication Management] [Authentication Info] next to [User Code Authentication]

4Select the functions you want to restrict using User Code Authentication.

[Restrict Printer Functions] Select the functions you want to restrict [OK]

The selected functions are subject to User Code authentication. User Code authentication is not applied to the functions not selected.

To enable printer job authentication, set [Restrict Other Functions] to an option other than [PC Control].

5If necessary, specify the level for printer job authentication.

[Printer Job Authentication] Select the printer job authentication level [OK]

If you select [Simple (Limitation)], specify the range in which [Simple (Limitation)] is applied to "Printer Job Authentication". You can specify the IPv4 address range to which this setting is applied, and whether or not to apply the setting to the parallel and USB interfaces.

[Simple (Limitation)] [Change Limitation Range] Specify the range in which [Simple (Limitation)] is applied to "Printer Job Authentication" [OK] [Exit] [OK]

6Log out.
