Preparation for Each Type of Transmission

To send documents to IP-Fax, Internet Fax, e-mail, or folder destinations, you must first configure the user tools according to the type of destination.

The required configuration is as follows:

Network settings on the System Settings menu

Network settings differ depending on the type of destination. See "Network Settings Requirements", Connecting the Machine/ System Settings for details.

Address Book registration

To send to a folder destination, you must first register the path for the folder in the Address Book. See "Registering Folders", Connecting the Machine/ System Settings for details.

Fax Features menu

  • Preparation for transmission to IP-Fax destinations

    Settings required for using the gatekeeper

    Setting

    Description

    Enable IP-Fax H.323

    Select [On].

    H.323 Settings

    Configure the gatekeeper settings.

    Parameter Setting (switch 34, bit 0)

    Select [On] to have the machine use the gatekeeper.

    Settings required for using the SIP server

    Setting

    Description

    Enable IP-Fax SIP

    Select [On].

    SIP Settings

    Configure the SIP server (proxy server, registrar server, redirect server) settings.

    Parameter Setting (switch 34, bit 1)

    Select [On] to have the machine use the SIP server.

    Settings required for using a gateway to send to a G3 facsimile

    Setting

    Description

    Program / Change / Delete Gateway

    Configure the VoIP gateway settings.

  • Preparation for transmission to Internet Fax destinations

    Select [On] for [Internet Fax Setting] to display the [Internet Fax] tab on the standby screen.

  • Preparation for transmission to e-mail destinations

    Select [On] for [Email Setting] to display the [Email] tab on the standby screen.

  • Preparation for transmission to a folder

    Select [On] for [Folder Setting] to display the [Folder] tab on the standby screen.

Note

  • Documents can still be forwarded or delivered to Internet Fax, e-mail, or folder destinations even if [Off] is selected for [Internet Fax Setting], [Email Setting], or [Folder Setting].
