Preventing Paper Setting Mismatch Errors

If both the paper size and the type configured using the printer driver or commands do not match the ones specified on the machine, an error occurs and printing is canceled. If this setting is selected for a print job that does not require the paper type to be specified, you can proceed to print if [Machine Setting(s): Any Type] is specified for the bypass tray using the machine's control panel and the paper size configured using the printer driver or commands matches the one specified on the machine.

To use this function, specify [Bypass Tray] for the input tray using the printer driver.

1Press [Home] (Operation panel screen illustration) at the bottom of the screen in the center.

2Flick the screen to the left, and then press the [User Tools] icon (Operation panel screen illustration).

3Press [Machine Features].

4Press [Printer Features].

5Press the [System] tab.

6Press [Down arrow keyNext] repeatedly until [Tray Setting Priority] appears.

7Press [Tray Setting Priority].

8Select [Bypass Tray].

9Select [Machine Setting(s): Any Type].

10Press [OK].

11Press [User Tools] (Operation panel screen illustration) on the top right of the screen.

12Press [Home] (Operation panel screen illustration) at the bottom of the screen in the center.

Note

  • For details about the items that can be configured, see System.

  • [Machine Setting(s): Any Type] can be specified for the bypass tray only.

  • If you set [Bypass Tray] to [Driver / Command] and [Paper Confirmation for Bypass Tray] to [Display], a list of paper sizes, types, and orientations is displayed if paper is fed from the bypass tray. Check the settings before printing.
