Specifying a Driver Encryption Key

Specify the driver encryption key on the printer.

This setting enables encrypted transmission of login passwords and strengthens the security against password cracking.

Press the [Menu] key, and then select setting items using the [Down arrow key ] or [Up arrow key ] key.

1Log in as the network administrator from the printer's control panel.

2Select [Security Options] Press [OK]

3Select [Extended Security] Press [OK]

4Select [Driver Encryption Key] Press [OK]

5Enter the driver encryption key Press [OK]

Enter the driver encryption key using up to 32 alphanumeric characters.

The network administrator must give users the driver encryption key specified on the printer so they can register it on their computers. Make sure to enter the same driver encryption key as that is specified on the printer.

6Enter the driver encryption key again to confirm it Press [OK]

7Press [Menu] twice.

8Log out.
