SNMPv3 Encryption

When using DeviceManager NX or another application that communicates via SNMPv3, you can encrypt the data transmitted.

By making this setting, you can protect data from being tampered with.

1Log in as the network administrator from Web Image Monitor.

2Point to [Device Management], and then click [Configuration].

3Click [Network Security] under "Security".

4Click [Encryption Only] in the "Permit SNMPv3 Communication" area of the "SNMP" section, and then click [OK].

5Log out.

Note

  • To use DeviceManager NX for encrypting the data for specifying settings, you need to specify the network administrator's Encryption Password setting and Encryption Password in SNMP Authentication Information in DeviceManager NX, in addition to specifying Permit SNMPv3 Communication on the printer. For details about specifying Encryption Password in DeviceManager NX, see DeviceManager NX Help.

  • If network administrator's [Encryption Password] setting is not specified, the data for transmission may not be encrypted or sent. For details about specifying the network administrator's [Encryption Password] setting, see Registering and Changing Administrators.
