Connect the HandsetRegion B icon (mainly North America)

Connecting the handset enables you to use the machine as a telephone and to easily switch the reception mode when a telephone call arrives.

For details about switching the reception mode, see "Reception Modes", Fax.

Important

  • Be sure to attach the handset to the back of the left side of the machine. Be careful not to obstruct the machine's vents at the front on the same side.

  • Do not apply strong impact or force to the handset bracket. Doing so may damage the bracket. The maximum force allowable is approx. 50 N (approx. 5 kgf). (N = Newton, kgf = Kilogram force. 1 kgf = 9.8 N.)

  • When you fix the handset cradle to the handset bracket, do not screw it too tightly. Doing so may damage the cradle or bracket.

  • A ferrite core is attached to the handset cord to reduce noise. Do not remove the ferrite core.
