About WIA Scanning

WIA allows computers running Windows Vista SP1 or later versions of Windows operating systems and Windows Server 2008 or later to perform scanning over a network.

(mainly Europe and Asia)
For details about the optional units required for this function, see "Functions Requiring Optional Configurations", Getting Started.
To use this machine as a WIA scanner, you must first download the WIA driver from the supplier's website and install it on your computer.

Network TWAIN also allows you to perform scanning through a network; however, TWAIN and WIA do not provide the same scan functions.

The following table tells you the functions available or not available with TWAIN and WIA. For details about TWAIN, see Preparing to Use TWAIN Scanner.

*2 The preview does not reflect changes made for settings while it is displayed. To display the preview image with the changed settings applied, first close the preview, and then open it again.
