This section describes the user tools in the Tray Paper Settings menu under System Settings.
If the specified paper size differs from the actual size of the paper loaded in the paper tray, a misfeed might occur because the correct paper size was not detected.
Paper Tray Priority: Copier (copier/Document Server)
Specify the tray to supply paper for output.
Default: [Tray 1]
The default setting is [Tray 3] (When Tray 3 (LCT) is installed)
The default setting is [LCT] (When LCT is installed)
The default setting is [Tray 3] (When Tray 3 (LCT) and LCT are installed)
Paper Tray Priority: Facsimile (facsimile)
Specify the tray to supply paper for output.
Default: [Tray 1]
Paper Tray Priority: Printer (printer)
Specify the tray to supply paper for output.
Default: [Tray 1]
Tray Paper Size: Tray 1–4 (Tray 3 and 4 are displayed when the lower paper tray or lower paper trays are installed.)
Select the size of the paper loaded in Trays 1–4.
The paper sizes you can set for Trays 1–4 are as follows:

You can specify a custom size of between 90.0–297.0 mm (3.55–11.69 inches) vertically, and between 148.0–431.8 mm (5.83–17.00 inches) horizontally.
For Tray 1, if you specify a custom size of between 279.5 mm or more vertically, you can specify a custom size of between 148.0–420.0 mm (5.83–16.53 inches) horizontally.

Printer Bypass Paper Size
Specify the size of the paper loaded in the bypass tray when printing data from the computer.
The paper sizes you can set for the bypass tray are as follows:

You can specify a custom size of between 90.0–304.8 mm (3.55–12.00 inches) vertically, and between 148.0–600.0 mm (5.83–23.62 inches) horizontally.
To allow users to specify a horizontal dimension of 600–1260 mm (23.62–49.60 inches) in "Custom Size", other settings must first be specified. For details about specifying custom paper sizes, contact your sales or service representative.

Tray Paper Size: Tray 3 (When LCT is installed.)
The paper guide for the Tray 3 (LCT) is fixed for A4 and 81/2 × 11 size paper. Contact your service representative if you need to change the paper size.
The paper sizes you can set for tray 3 (LCT) are as follows:

Paper Type: Bypass Tray
Set the display so you can see what type of paper is loaded in the bypass tray.

The paper thicknesses you can set for the bypass tray are as follows:

[Plain Paper] (60–81 g/m2, 16–22 lb. Bond)

"Apply Duplex" is available only when [Thin Paper], [Plain Paper], [Middle Thick], [Thick Paper 1], [Thick Paper 2], or [Thick Paper 3] is selected.
"Apply Duplex" is not available when [Label Paper], [OHP (Transparency)], or [Envelope] is selected.
If [Envelope] is selected for "Paper Type", [Thin Paper] and [Plain Paper] are not available.
If [OHP (Transparency)] is selected for "Paper Type", "Paper Thickness" is not available.
The lock icon is displayed next to the paper tray if [No] is selected in "Apply Auto Paper Select".

Cover Sheet Tray
You can specify and display the paper tray that is used for setting front cover sheets.
After selecting the paper tray, you can also specify the display timing and copy method for two-sided copying.
Default: [Off]
If you select the item, take note of the following:
When [At Mode Selected] is selected in "Display Time", front cover sheet tray settings only appear when the cover function or slip sheet function is selected. When [Full Time] is selected, the front cover sheet tray is always displayed.
Slip Sheet Tray
You can specify and display the paper tray that is used for setting slip sheets.
You can also specify the display timing and copy method for two-sided copying.
Default: [Off]
If you select the item, take note of the following:
When [At Mode Selected] is selected in "Display Time", slip sheet tray settings only appear when the cover function or slip sheet function is selected. When [Full Time] is selected, the slip sheet tray is always displayed.
