General Settings

Plain Paper Setting

You can specify the weight of plain paper when [Plain Paper] is selected as the paper thickness for each paper type in [Recycled Paper Setting], [Color Paper Setting], [Letterhead Setting], [Preprinted Paper Setting], [Bond Paper Setting], [Cardstock Setting], and [Label Paper Setting]. The paper weight can be set for each tray separately. For details about the actual paper weight, see Paper Specifications.

Recycled Paper Setting

Color Paper Setting

Envelope Setting

Coated Paper Setting

Preprinted Paper Setting

Replacement Alert

You can specify the timing when the Alert Indicator will light up to prompt the user to replace supplies.

Supply End Option

You can specify whether or not to continue printing after the drum unit exceeds its service life.

You can specify whether or not the amount of toner is displayed on the initial screen.

Menu Protect

You can specify whether or not to protect the menu settings. If you enable this setting, you must specify a protection level.

If you would like to lower the protection level, disable this setting or select [Level 1].

You may not be able to change this setting depending on the setting of the printer.

List/Test Print Lock

You can specify whether or not to prohibit List/Test printing.

You may not be able to change this setting depending on the setting of the printer.

Paper Size Error Detect

You can specify whether or not to detect paper size errors.

Default: [Detect]

  • Detect

    When a print job is being performed, the printer checks if the size of the paper fed from the tray matches the size specified on the [Paper Input] menu, paper size dial in the tray, or in the printer driver. If an error is detected, the printer displays an error message and stops printing.

  • Do not Detect

    The printer does not detect paper size errors.

    Note

    • When [Paper Size Error Detect] is set to [Detect], a form feed cannot be performed.

Unit of measure

You can switch the unit of measurement between [mm] and [inch].

Panel Key Sound

You can specify whether or not to enable the panel key sound.

Display Contrast

You can specify the density of the display by selecting one of seven levels.

Key Repeat

You can specify whether or not to scroll the display panel when the [Down arrow key ] or [Up arrow key ] key is held down. When you enable this setting, specify the scroll speed. (If repeat time is set to "Long", scroll speed becomes slow.)

Function Priority

You can specify the function that is selected by default whenever the printer is turned on or exits Energy Saver mode.
