Print in Black and White

Important

  • When a black-and-white image is printed in color, the black and gray area in the image may print using CMY ink. To print the color black more clearly, it is recommended to print grayscale or black-and-white images in Black and White mode.

  • When black-and-white printing is specified in the application, make sure to set [Color Mode:] in [Printer Features] to [Black and White]. Otherwise, the black areas on the output sheet may print using CMY ink.

1Open the document to print.

2Select [Print...] on the [File] menu.

3Select [Printer Features] in the pop-up menu.

4Select [General 1] in [Feature Sets:].

The item names in [Feature Sets:] differ depending on the version of Mac OS X you are using.

5Select [Black and White] in the [Color Mode:] pop-up menu.

6Print the document using the print function in the document's native application.
