Placing the original in the ADF

When you cannot place the original as the above, you may not make copies as you want with particular functions. If this happens, change the orientation by selecting the unreadable orientation.

Select this mode if the orientation of the original matches the one of the copy paper.

If the original cannot be placed in a readable orientation (e.g. A3
or 11 × 17
), place it in an unreadable direction and select this mode.
When using functions such as Duplex and Combine, take care to specify the orientation of the original correctly.
For example, the following diagram shows how to copy A3
or 11 × 17
originals when the Combine function is selected:

Press [Orig.].

Press [Original's Orientation].
Select the original orientation, and then press [OK] twice.
