Tray Paper Settings

This section describes the user tools in the Tray Paper Settings menu under System Settings.

Important

  • If the specified paper size differs from the actual size of the paper loaded in the paper tray, a misfeed might occur because the correct paper size was not detected.

Paper Tray Priority: Copier (copier/Document Server)

Specify the tray to supply paper for output.

Default: [Tray 1]

Paper Tray Priority: Facsimile (facsimile)

Specify the tray to supply paper for output.

Default: [Tray 1]

Paper Tray Priority: Printer (printer)

Specify the tray to supply paper for output.

Default: [Tray 1]

Tray Paper Size: Tray 2

Select the size of the paper loaded in the paper tray.

The paper sizes you can set for tray 2 are as follows:

Tray Paper Size: Tray 3-4 (when the lower paper trays are installed.)

Select the size of the paper loaded in the paper tray.

You can specify a custom size of between 100.0 - 220.0 mm (3.94 - 8.66 inch) vertically, and between 148.0 - 432.0 mm (5.83 - 17.00 inch) horizontally.

You cannot replace the lower paper tray with the small size paper tray.

Printer Bypass Paper Size

Specify the size of the paper loaded in the bypass tray when printing data from the computer.

The paper sizes you can set for the bypass tray are as follows:

You can specify a custom size of between 90.0 - 305.0 mm (3.55 -12.00 inch) vertically, and between 148.0 - 600.0 mm (5.83 - 23.62 inch) horizontally

To allow users to specify a horizontal dimension of 600-1260 mm in "Custom Size", other settings must first be specified. For details about specifying custom paper sizes, contact your sales or service representative.

Paper Type: Bypass Tray

Set the display so you can see what type of paper is loaded in the bypass tray.

The paper types you can set for the bypass tray are as follows:

If [Envelope] is selected for "Paper Type", [Thin Paper] and [Plain Paper] are not displayed.

If you select [OHP (Transparency)] or [Coated Paper: Gloss], "Paper Thickness" is not available.

Set the display so you can see what type of paper is loaded in the LCT.

The print function uses this information to automatically select the paper tray.

Cover Sheet Tray

You can specify and display the paper tray that is used for setting front cover sheets.

After selecting the paper tray, you can also specify the display timing and copy method for two-sided copying.

Default: [Off]

If you set this setting to [On], take note of the following:

When [At Mode Selected] is selected in "Display Time", front cover sheet tray settings only appear when the cover function or slip sheet function is selected. When [Full Time] is selected, the front cover sheet tray is always displayed.

Slip Sheet Tray

You can specify and display the paper tray that is used for setting slip sheets.

You can also specify the display timing and copy method for two-sided copying.

Default: [Off]

If you set this setting to [On], take note of the following:

When [At Mode Selected] is selected in "Display Time", slip sheet tray settings only appear when the cover function or slip sheet function is selected. When [Full Time] is selected, the slip sheet tray is always displayed.

Note

  • The paper types you can set for this machine are [Plain Paper 1] and [Plain Paper 2]. The default setting is [Plain Paper 2]. For details about setting the paper type, see "Changing Paper Thickness Settings", Paper Specifications and Adding Paper.
