You can send and receive faxes from a machine that does not have a fax function if you can use the remote fax function to connect to a machine that has a fax function. You can instruct a remote machine to send a fax by displaying the [Remote Fax] screen on your machine. From the [Remote Fax] screen, you can send scanned documents to the remote machine and instruct it to fax the document.
Remote fax transmissions are possible on a G3 line.
On your machine you can also set the user tools for the remote fax function and add fax numbers to the Address Book of your machine.

To use this function, the following items must be done in advance:
Connect the client-side machine to the remote machine over the network.
In the System Settings menu on the remote machine, specify the IP address or the host name of the machine that controls the remote machine. In addition, in the System Settings menu on the machine that controls the remote machine, specify the IP address or the host name of the remote machine.

If using user authentication, select the same authentication method between the client-side machine and the remote machine.
