When Using the TWAIN Driver or the WIA Driver

This section explains the relationship between resolution and scan size when using the TWAIN driver or the WIA driver with the machine.

To specify the scan area or resolution on the machine you are using as a network TWAIN scanner directly, see the TWAIN driver Help.

If [Binary(Text)], [Binary(Photo)], or [Gray Scale] is selected in [Col./Grad.:]

Note

  • If the [Increase Scanner Memory by Disabling Browser] setting in [System Settings] is changed, restart the TWAIN driver. Otherwise, resolution settings and other input controls that can be specified on the driver screen will not work properly.

  • Certain original types and resolution settings can reduce scanning quality.
