Troubleshooting

This section provides solutions to common problems.

For Windows:

The document is not printed, even though the data has been sent and received over a network.

Open the printer properties, and then click the [Device Settings] tab. Select [No] in [Send CTRL-D Before Each Job:] and [Send CTRL-D After Each Job:].

For Macintosh:

It takes a long time for the print dialog to appear.

Depending on the overall performance of a Macintosh system, it may take a long time to display the dialog.

It takes a long time to print from a G3/G4 Macintosh when the printer is connected via switching hub.

Modify the settings as follow:

  • Set the machine's communication speed to the same speed as the switching hub.

  • Or set the machine's communication speed to "100Mbps Full Duplex" or "100Mbps Half Duplex".

For details about how to configure the Ethernet speed, see "Interface Settings", Connecting the Machine/ System Settings.
