Printer Features

Select [Printer Features] in the pop-up menu to change the printer specific settings.

The available items and settings may differ depending on the printer model and attached options. The display for the printer functions can be switched by selecting the [Feature Sets:] list.

  1. Fit to Paper:

The document is automatically reduced or enlarged to fit the paper size selected.

    • Prompt User

The print job is performed with the size of document to be printed unchanged.

    • Nearest Size and Scale

If the paper size is smaller than the selected paper size, the driver reduces the print size.

If the paper size is larger than the size of document to be printed, the print job is not adjusted to fit the paper size.

    • Nearest Size and Crop

The print job is performed regardless of any differences between the selected and actual paper size. However, the print job is not adjusted to fit the paper size.

  2. Print Mode:

Select whether or not to conserve toner when printing.

    • Off

Suitable for images such as photographs that contain fine gradation in tone.

    • Edge Smoothing

Improves the quality of text and graphics by smoothing jagged outer edges to enhance the appearance of curved lines.

    • Toner Saving 1

Reduces the amount of toner used when printing.

    • Toner Saving 2

Further reduces the amount of toner used when printing (a great reduction than when [Toner Saving 1] is selected). While this increases the life of the toner cartridge, the output appears slightly lighter.

  3. Dithering:

Select a dithering pattern suitable for the document image.

    • Auto

Automatically configures the best dithering method depending on the appearance of the document to print.
