Windows Server 2008 R2

This section describes the procedure under Windows Server 2008 R2.

1On the [Start] menu, click [Control Panel].

2Click [Hardware].

3Click [Devices and Printers].

4Click [Add a printer].

5Follow the instructions in Add Printer Wizard.

If the CD-ROM drive is D, the source files of the printer driver are stored in the following locations:

  • PCL 5e

    D:\X64\DRIVERS\PCL5E\X64\(language)\DISK1

  • PCL 6

    D:\X64\DRIVERS\PCL6\X64\MUI\DISK1

  • PostScript 3

    D:\X64\DRIVERS\PS\X64\MUI\DISK1

If the installer starts, click [Cancel] to quit.

6Specify a port.

  • Available ports vary according to your Windows operating system or the type of interface. For details, see "Confirming the Connection Method", Printer ReferenceIllustration indicating instructions stored on a CD-ROM.

  • The PCL 6 and PostScript 3 printer drivers are installed in the language of your operating system.
