Making Option Settings for the Printer

Make option settings for the machine using the printer driver when bidirectional communication is disabled.

Set up option settings when bidirectional communications are disabled.

Manage Printers permission is required to change the printer properties. Log on as an Administrators group member.

On the [Start] menu, click [Printers and Faxes].
- When using Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008, click [Control Panel] on the [Start] menu, and then click [Printer] in "Hardware and Sound".
- When using Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, click the [Start] menu, and then click [Devices and Printers].
Click the icon of the printer you want to use.
On the [File] menu, click [Properties].
- When using Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008, right-click the icon of the printer you want to use, and then click [Properties].
- When using Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, right-click the icon of the printer you want to use, and then click [Printer properties].
Click the [Device Settings] tab.
Select options installed from the [Installable Options] area, and then make the necessary settings.
Click [Apply], and then click [OK] to close the printer properties dialog box.
