This section describes how to set up option, paper size and paper feed direction settings on your computer manually.

Manage Printers permission is required to change the printer properties. Log on as an Administrators group member.
For the PCL 6 printer driver:
On the [Start] menu, click [Printers and Faxes].
When using Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008, click [Control Panel] on the [Start] menu, and then click [Printer] in "Hardware and Sound".
When using Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, click the [Start] menu, and then click [Devices and Printers].
Click the icon of the printer you want to use.
On the [File] menu, click [Properties].
When using Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008, right-click the icon of the printer you want to use, and then click [Properties].
When using Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, right-click the icon of the printer you want to use, and then click [Printer properties].
Click the [Accessories] tab.
If options in the [Accessories] tab are disabled, bidirectional connection is enabled. In this case, no change is necessary for option settings.
Select options installed from the [Options] area, and then make the necessary settings.
Click [Change Input Tray Settings...].
In [Input Tray:] select which trays to use, and then, in [Paper Size:] select the size of the paper that you want to load in each tray.
Click [Modify Input Tray/Paper Size] to apply the setting for each tray.
Click [OK] twice to close the printer properties dialog box.
For the PCL 5e printer driver:
On the [Start] menu, click [Printers and Faxes].
When using Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008, click [Control Panel] on the [Start] menu, and then click [Printer] in "Hardware and Sound".
When using Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, click the [Start] menu, and then click [Devices and Printers].
Click the icon of the printer you want to use.
On the [File] menu, click [Properties].
When using Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008, right-click the icon of the printer you want to use, and then click [Properties].
When using Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, right-click the icon of the printer you want to use, and then click [Printer properties].
Click the [Accessories] tab.

Click the [Paper Size Settings] tab.
In [Input Tray:] select which trays to use, and then, in [Paper Size:] select the size of the paper that you want to load in each tray.
