Cleaning the Auto Document Feeder

This section describes how to clean the ADF.

1Open the upper cover of the ADF.

2Lift the original feed unit.

3Wipe the paper pickup roller, paper feed roller, and friction pad with a soft damp cloth. After that, wipe them with a dry cloth to remove the moisture.

  3. Friction pad

4Return the original feed unit to its original position.

5Close the upper cover of the ADF.

6Lift the ADF.

7Wipe the sheet and guide plate of the ADF.

8Lower the ADF.

Note

  • If a misfeed or multiple sheet feeding occur after cleaning the paper pickup roller, paper feed roller, and friction pad, contact your sales or service representative.
