Tray Paper Settings

This section describes the user tools in the Tray Paper Settings menu under System Settings.

Important

  • If the specified paper size differs from the actual size of the paper loaded in the paper tray, a misfeed might occur because the correct paper size was not detected.

Paper Tray Priority: Copier (copier/Document Server)

Specify the tray to supply paper for output.

Default: [Tray 1]

Paper Tray Priority: Facsimile (facsimile)

Specify the tray to supply paper for output.

Default: [Tray 1]

Paper Tray Priority: Printer (printer)

Specify the tray to supply paper for output.

Default: [Tray 1]

Tray Paper Size: Tray 1

Select the size of the paper loaded in the paper tray.

The paper sizes you can set for tray 1 are as follows:

You can specify a custom size of between 98.0 hyphen 216.0 mm (3.86 hyphen 8.50 inches) vertically, and between 148.0 hyphen 297.0 mm (5.83 hyphen 11.69 inches) horizontally.

Tray Paper Size: Tray 2hyphen4 (when the lower paper trays are installed.)

Select the size of the paper loaded in the paper tray.

The paper sizes you can set for tray 2 hyphen 4 are as follows:

Printer Bypass Paper Size

Specify the size of the paper in the bypass tray when printing data from the computer.

The paper sizes you can set for bypass tray are as follows:

You can specify a custom size of between 70.0 hyphen 216.0 mm (2.76 hyphen 8.50 inches) vertically, and between 127.0 hyphen 600.0 mm (5.00 hyphen 23.62 inches) horizontally.

To allow users to specify a horizontal dimension of 600-1260 mm in "Custom Size", other settings must first be specified. For details about specifying custom paper sizes, contact your sales or service representative.

Paper Type: Bypass Tray

Sets the display so you can see what type of paper is loaded in the bypass tray.

The paper types you can set for the bypass tray are as follows:

  • [Do not Display], [Recycled Paper], [Letterhead], [Label Paper], [OHP (Transparency)], [Special Paper 1], [Special Paper 2], [Special Paper 3], [Envelope], [Coated: Glossy], [Coated: Matted], [Waterproof], [Back Copied Paper]

The paper thicknesses you can set for the bypass tray are as follows:

  • [Thin Paper] (52 hyphen 60 g/m2, 14 lb. Bond hyphen 16 lb. Bond)

  • [Plain Paper] (61 hyphen 90 g/m2, 16 lb. Bond hyphen 24 lb. Bond)

  • [Middle Thick] (91 hyphen 105 g/m2, 24 lb. Bond hyphen 28 lb. Bond)

  • [Thick Paper 1] (106 hyphen 130 g/m2, 28 lb. Bond hyphen 35 lb. Bond)

  • [Thick Paper 2] (131 hyphen 163 g/m2, 35 lb. Bond hyphen 90 lb. Index)

  • [Thick Paper 3] (164 hyphen 220 g/m2, 90 lb. Index hyphen 80 lb. Cover)

  • [Thick Paper 4] (221 hyphen 256 g/m2, 80 lb. Cover hyphen 140 lb. Index)

Paper Type: Tray 1hyphen4

Sets the display so you can see what type of paper is loaded in the paper tray 1 hyphen 4.

The print function uses this information to automatically select the paper tray.

The paper types you can set for the paper tray 1 hyphen 4 are as follows:

  • [Do not Display], [Recycled Paper], [Letterhead], [Label Paper], [Special Paper 1], [Special Paper 2], [Special Paper 3], [Envelope], [Coated: Glossy], [Coated: Matted], [Waterproof], [Back Copied Paper]

The paper thicknesses you can set for the paper tray 1 hyphen 4 are as follows:

Default for "Paper Type": [Do not Display]

Default for "Paper Thickness": [Plain Paper]

Default for "Apply Duplex": [Yes]

Default for "Apply Auto Paper Select": [Yes]

The key mark is displayed next to the paper tray if [No] is selected in "Apply Auto Paper Select".

Apply Auto Paper Select can only be selected if [Do not Display] is selected. If [No] is selected, Auto Paper Select is not valid.

Cover Sheet Tray

You can specify and display the paper tray that is used to set front or back cover sheets.

After selecting the paper tray, you can also specify the display timing and copy method for two-sided copying.

Default: [Off]

When [At Mode Selected] is selected, front or back cover sheet tray settings only appear when the cover function is selected.

When [Full Time] is selected, the front or back cover sheet tray is always displayed.

Slip Sheet Tray

You can specify and display the paper tray that is used for setting slip sheets.

You can also specify the display timing and copy method for two-sided copying.

Default: [Off]

When [At Mode Selected] is selected, slip sheet tray settings only appear when the slip sheet function is selected.

When [Full Time] is selected, the slip sheet tray is always displayed.

Note

  • The machine supports two types of plain paper: [Plain Paper 1] and [Plain Paper 2]. The default setting is [Plain Paper 2]. For details about setting the paper type, see "Changing Paper Thickness Settings", About This machine.

Reference
