Tray Paper Settings

This section describes the user tools in the Tray Paper Settings menu under System Settings.

Default settings are shown in bold type.

Important

  • If the specified paper size differs from the actual size of the paper loaded in the paper tray, a misfeed might occur because the correct paper size was not detected.

Paper Tray Priority: Copier (copier/Document Server)

Specify the tray to supply paper for output.

The default setting is Tray 1.

When optional paper tray unit is installed, [Tray 3] and [Tray 4] are displayed.

When optional paper tray 3 (LCT) is installed, [Tray 3] is displayed.

When optional Large Capacity Tray (LCT) is installed, [LCT] is displayed.

Paper Tray Priority: Facsimile (facsimile)

Specify the tray to supply paper for output.

The default setting is Tray 1.

When optional paper tray unit is installed, [Tray 3] and [Tray 4] are displayed.

When optional paper tray 3 (LCT) is installed, [Tray 3] is displayed.

When optional Large Capacity Tray (LCT) is installed, [LCT] is displayed.

Paper Tray Priority: Printer (printer)

Specify the tray to supply paper for output.

The default setting is Tray 1.

When optional paper tray unit is installed, [Tray 3] and [Tray 4] are displayed.

When optional paper tray 3 (LCT) is installed, [Tray 3] is displayed.

When optional Large Capacity Tray (LCT) is installed, [LCT] is displayed.

Tray Paper Size: Tray 1-4

Select the size of the paper loaded in the paper tray.

[Tray Paper Size: Tray 3] and [Tray Paper Size: Tray 4] appear only when the optional paper tray unit is installed.

  • The paper sizes you can set for tray 1-4 are as follows:

    • Auto Detect

    • A3Landscape, B4 JISLandscape, A4Landscape, B5 JISLandscape

    • Custom Size

    The default settings for Tray 1-4 are Auto Detect.

    You can specify a custom size of between 182.0-305.0mm (7.17"-12.00") vertically, and between 210.0-432.0mm (8.27"-17.00") horizontally.

    The paper guide for the optional paper tray 3 (LCT) and optional Large Capacity Tray (LCT) are fixed for A4Portrait, 81/2multiplication11Portrait size paper. Contact your service representative if you need to change the paper size.

Printer Bypass Paper Size

Specify the size of the paper in the bypass tray when printing data from the computer.

  • The paper sizes you can set for bypass tray are as follows:

    • Auto Detect

    • A3Landscape, B4 JISLandscape, A4Landscape, B5 JISLandscape, A5Landscape, B6 JISLandscape, A6Landscape

The default setting is Auto Detect.

You can specify a custom size of between 90.0-305.0mm (3.55"-12.00") vertically, and between 148.0-600.0mm (5.83"-23.62") horizontally.

Paper Type: Bypass Tray

Set the display so you can see what type of paper is loaded in the bypass tray.

  • The paper types you can set for the bypass tray are as follows:

    No Display, Recycled Paper, Color Paper, Letterhead, Label Paper, OHP (Transparency), Special Paper 1, Special Paper 2, Special Paper 3

  • The paper thicknesses you can set for the bypass tray are as follows:

    Thin Paper (52-59g/m2), Plain Paper (60-81g/m2), Middle Thick (82-105g/m2), Thick Paper 1 (106-160g/m2), Thick Paper 2 (161-216g/m2)

The default setting is No Display.

The default setting for "Paper Thickness" is Plain Paper.

Paper Type: Tray 1-4

Set the display so you can see what type of paper is loaded in each paper tray. The print function uses this information to automatically select the paper tray.

[Paper Type: Tray 3] appears only when the optional paper tray unit or optional paper tray 3 (LCT) is installed.

[Paper Type: Tray 4] appears only when the optional paper tray unit is installed.

  • The paper types you can set are as follows:

    No Display, Recycled Paper, Color Paper, Letterhead, Special Paper 1, Special Paper 2, Special Paper 3

  • The paper thicknesses you can set for the bypass tray are as follows:

    Plain Paper (60-81g/m2), Middle Thick (82-105g/m2), Thick Paper 1 (106-160g/m2)

The default setting for "Paper Type" is No Display.

The default setting for "Paper Thickness" is Plain Paper.

The default setting for "Apply Duplex" is Yes.

The default setting for "Apply Auto Paper Select" is Yes.

A image mark appears next to the paper tray if [No] is selected in "Auto Paper Select".

"Auto Paper Select" can only be selected for the copier function if [No Display] and [Recycled Paper] are selected. If [No] is selected, Auto Paper Select is not valid for the tray.

Paper Type: LCT

Sets the display so you can see what type of paper is loaded in the LCT.

This menu appears only when the optional Large Capacity Tray (LCT) is installed.

  • The paper types you can set are as follows:

    No Display, Recycled Paper, Color Paper, Letterhead, Special Paper 1, Special Paper 2, Special Paper 3

  • The paper thicknesses you can set for the bypass tray are as follows:

    Plain Paper (60-81g/m2), Middle Thick (82-105g/m2), Thick Paper 1 (106-160g/m2)

The default setting for "Paper Type" is No Display.

The default setting for "Paper Thickness" is Plain Paper.

The default setting for "Apply Duplex" is Yes.

The default setting for "Apply Auto Paper Select" is Yes.

A image mark appears next to the LCT if [No] is selected in "Auto Paper Select".

"Auto Paper Select" can only be selected for the copier function if [No Display] and [Recycled Paper] are selected. If [No] is selected, Auto Paper Select is not valid for the tray.

Cover Sheet Tray

Allows you to specify and display the paper tray that is setting cover sheets.

After selecting the paper tray, you can also specify the display timing and copy method for two-sided copying.

The default setting for "Tray to Program" is Off.

Functions using the cover sheet tray setting are the front cover function and front/back cover function.

When [At Mode Selected] is selected, cover sheet tray settings only appear when the cover function or slip sheet function is selected.

When [Full Time] is selected, the cover sheet tray is always displayed.

You can set Copying Method in Duplex only when [At Mode Selected] is selected.

Slip Sheet Tray

Allows you to specify and display the paper tray that is inserting slip sheets.

After selecting the paper tray, you can also specify the display timing and copy method for two-sided copying.

The default setting for "Tray to Program" is Off.

When [At Mode Selected] is selected, slip sheet tray settings only appear when the cover function or slip sheet function is selected.
