Installing the PostScript 3 Printer Driver (Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008)

Important

  • Installing this printer driver requires Administrators permission. Log on using an account that has Administrators permission.

  • In an IPv6 environment, you cannot use the Standard TCP/IP Port. Use the DeskTop Binder-SmartDeviceMonitor port.

  • You can install the printer driver from the CD-ROM provided with this machine or download it from the supplier's Web site.

  • If your operating system is Windows Vista x64, Windows Server 2008 x64, you must download the printer driver from the manufacturer's Web site. Select this printer and the operating system you are using, and then download it.

1Quit all applications currently running.

2Insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.

The installer starts.

3Select an interface language, and then click [OK].

The default interface language is English.

4Click [PostScript 3 Printer Driver].

Add Printer Wizard starts.

5Click [Add a local printer].

6Click [Create a new port:], and then select [Standard TCP/IP Port] in [Type of port:].

7Click [Next].

8Select [TCP/IP Device] in [Device Type:].

9Enter the printer's IP address in [Hostname or IP Address], and then click [Next>].

The [Port Name] text box automatically obtains a port name. Change this name if necessary.

A printer driver installation screen appears when Standard TCP/IP port is detected.

When screen for Device selection appears, select “RICOH NetworkPrinter Driver C Model”.

10Select that the name of the printer whose driver you want to install is selected, and then click [Next >].

11Change the printer name if you want, and then click [Next >].

Select the [Yes] check box to configure the printer as default.

12Specify whether or not to share the printer, and then click [Next >].

13Specify whether or not to print a test page, and then click [Finish].

The printer driver installation starts.

Note

  • A user code can be set after the printer driver installation. For information about user code, see the printer driver Help.

  • Auto Run may not work with certain operating system settings. In that case, launch “Setup.exe” on the CD-ROM root directory.
