Setting a password

There are times when you may want to use an "SID" (Sender ID) when sending confidential faxes with the SUB Code function.

When you use a Transfer Box that has a password, enter the SID Code as the password.

You can enter numbers, Asterisk, Sharp, and spaces.

1Place the original, and then select the scan settings you require.

2Press [TX Mode].

3Press [Option Setting].

4Press [SUB Code Transmission].

5Press [OK] twice.

6Enter the fax number of a destination or an IP-Fax destination.

7Press [Adv.Features].

8Make sure that [SUB Code] is selected.

9Press [Transmission SUB Code].

10Enter a SUB Code using the number keys, and then press [OK].

11When a password is required, press [Password (SID)], enter the password using the number keys, and then press [OK].

12Press [OK].

13Press [Start].

Note

  • If you use Immediate Transmission and the fax machine at the destination does not support the SUB Code function, a message will appear on the display to inform you of this. When this happens, press [Exit] to cancel the transmission.

  • Make sure the number of digits in the SUB Code matches the specification of the machine to which you are sending.

  • When a SUB Code is stored in the Address Book, the SUB Code can be modified or deleted after selecting a destination using the destination keys.
