Cleaning the Auto Document Feeder

This section describes how to clean the ADF.

Open the upper cover of the ADF.
Lift the original feed unit.
Wipe the paper pickup roller, paper feed roller, and friction pad with a soft damp cloth. After that, wipe them with a dry cloth to remove the moisture.

3. Friction pad
Return the original feed unit to its original position.
Close the upper cover of the ADF.
Lift the ADF.
Wipe the sheet and guide plate of the ADF.

2. Sheet
Lower the ADF.

If a misfeed or multiple sheet feeding occur after cleaning the paper pickup roller, paper feed roller, and friction pad, contact your sales or service representative.
